Rookies: 

The Rookies division includes 7 and 8 year olds and is a machine pitch division designed to emphasize the fundamentals of softball. Players are encouraged to try different fielding positions, with safety in mind, to enhance the softball experience for the player.  There is no base stealing in this division.  Typically there are one to two coaches on the field during the games to help the girls learn the plays on the field.  The season will consist of 2 practices a week.  As the season progresses it becomes one practice and one game a week.  10-12 games are played against teams from surrounding towns (Haddon Heights, Barrington, Audubon and Haddon Township).  Practices will begin mid to late March with the first game usually being on opening day.  Players will need a bat, glove, helmet and cleats.
